The reverse osmosis membrane removes dissolved solids from the water which the City water systems do not remove. Some dissolved solids may be harmful such as Lead, Nitrates,Chromium-6, and Selenium. On average, 93% of the total dissolved solids (TDS) are removed. Approved by California Department of Health Services, Certificate #02-1535. The first filter stage removes sediments, such as sand, iron rust, and dirt. The second filter is activated carbon which removes chlorine and chlorine by products from the water as well as the taste and odor of chlorine and other smells or tastes. The third stage is the RO described above, and the clean water goes to a storage tank. From there, it goes to a final activated carbon filter to remove storage odors or tastes just before the water is delivered to a separate clean water faucet on the sink. |
The Vert ex PureWaterMachine Reverse Osmosis Filter system has been tested and certified by the Water Quality Association's GOLD SEAL programto ANSI/NSF standard 58 for performance and contaminant reduction claims. Certification listings may be seen Here |
